Derbyshire Record Office holds miles of archives, preserved in thousands of boxes, on hundreds of shelves, in dozens of strongrooms. And those strongrooms are not going anywhere. So how will you ever get to see the archives for yourself without making a special trip to Matlock? Here’s how:
The Amazing Pop up Archives Project is a contemporary heritage project designed by young people, working with Derbyshire Record Office staff and experienced creative facilitators. It is designed to “pop up” at four events throughout the county over the course of 2016 and 2017. There are myriad ways for you to participate, and see the archives brought to life in an original and imaginative way. These events will be exciting, engaging and accessible for people of all ages.
