Last week we were joined by the lovely ladies of the Winster and Elton Luncheon Club who visited the Record Office to celebrate the end of the exhibition My Wonderful Life which had been on display in our reception area during May. You may have read my previous blog post describing the exhibition……Made up of beautiful handmade books, made from textured papers, decorated with hand cut lino prints and folded using a traditional Japanese technique, the books were filled with photographs and memories illustrating important events in each person’s life.
The ladies, joined by Jane Wells of Junction Arts who devised the My Wonderful Life project, came to see their work on display and spend time perusing archives relating to Elton and Winster. Memories came flooding back when some of the group found themselves and family members within the records. Such a good time was had that the ladies hope to return for a longer visit down memory lane and we look forward to having them back.
